STOP THE AERIAL SLAUGHTER OF WILDLIFE IN ALASKA

HELP US STOP THE AERIAL SLAUGHTER OF WILDLIFE IN ALASKA
and prevent it from spreading to other anti-wolf states

As I'm sure you know the citizen's initiative in Alaska to halt the aerial shooting of wolves failed. It was due to politics and money. All the other wildlife advocacy groups (Defenders, NWF, NRDC, Center for Biological Diversity, etc) are lobbying to get the Protect America'a Wildlife Act (H.R. 3663) reintroduced into the new legislature. I personally wrote Congressman George Miller (D-Calif.) asking him to join with all those who previously cosponsored HR3663 with him to reintroduce it again.

The bill would amend the Airborne Hunting Act of 1971 to clarify the conditions in which states can use airplanes and helicopters to aid in the management of wildlife, bar states from using aerial hunting to artificially boost game species populations, and place a specific, new restriction on inhumane aerial hunting. HR3663 was cosponsored by Rep. Norm Dicks (D-Wash.) and Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.) among others.

My feeling is that the new legislature already has some pretty serious issues to contend with. So I am diligently approaching this issue from the legal aspect. The contention that the present Alaska aerial hunting program is in compliance with the existing Federal Airborne Hunting Act is, at best, highly debatable. The existing Federal Airborne Hunting Act is fairly specific. I'm going to try to get some serious legal help to get this issue before a judge in Alaska.

I would like to respectfully request of you any referrals you may have to people in the legal arena who would be willing to give me some guidance on how to go about this. Also the Alaska Game Board will have some openings that will become available in March. Let me know of Alaskan residents, who might want to join. They have said that they are specifically looking for members outside the hunting/trapping world.
