2010 Tax-Deductible Donations
We understand that in this difficult economy it is not easy to donate to organizations such as ours. Family most definitely comes first. However, if the opportunity arises, please think of us when making a Tax-Deductible donation this year. Our "pack" always appreciates the help from our supporters. It's easy to visit our website and click onto "Paypal".

A Note from the Webmaster
Some of you unintentionally received two copies of the Newsletter last month, we apologize for that and will try not to have it happen again, but sometimes we push the wrong button. Thank you for your understanding. ... Paul M. Van Dort
Don’t let a bunch of FERRETS beat our WOLVES!
WE NEED YOUR VOTES!!!
PLEASE help the refuge by going onto www.petfoliomagazine.com
EVERY DAY and vote for the U.S. Wolf Refuge in Petfolio's Readers Choice Awards Contest. At this time, we're in a battle for first place with a FERRET Rescue! We can't let the Ferrets beat our WOLVES!!! Ask your family and friends to vote too…it only takes a minute to do and YOU CAN VOTE ONCE EVERY DAY. Last year we came in 2nd Place and we would love to come in 1st this year. This is a wonderful fundraising event that the magazine holds every year in July. They divide the proceeds from the whole event between the top three non-profit groups.
THANKS FOR HELPING US LAST YEAR & THIS YEAR TOO!
Many Thanks
We had a few more people step up and send in much needed donations in the month of May. It means so much to us that you are willing to make sacrifices in your lives to help our pack. A sincere heart felt WOOOOOOOO from the staff, volunteers and wolf-dogs!
Stanford Powwow More Than a Success
This years event at the Stanford Powwow was MORE than successful. Our volunteers greeted literally THOUSANDS of people that were intrigued by our
Ambassador Wolf-Dogs Temerity, Kasa and Aries. The Powwow Committee moved our spot from the location that we have held for the previous two years Stanford Powwow 2010which initially didn't thrill us, but then we discovered that we had been relocated along the pathway that lead from the main parking area. Our booth was the first booth that the public saw upon entering the Powwow grounds!
Our volunteers turned out in their special new bright red t-shirts which made it very apparent that they were with the pack. Considering the state of our economy we were pleased that so many people were generous with their donations and we met a few people that want to become permanent volunteers. People seemed to enjoy looking at our new booth design that was focused on "Your Donations At Work" with many enlarged photos of volunteers socializing with our pack as well as working on various projects at the refuge. We even were able to show photos of a few of our pack members visiting the vet for spaying and neutering. Thanks so much to all our volunteers who worked so hard! We can't wait until next year.

In The Spotlight
We need everyone's help passing the word about some of the adoptable animals at the refuge. Please take any opportunity to "pass the word" along if you hear of anyone looking for a dog. Tell them about wonderful Mira our little rescued Shepherd Mix, spunky Nikita our Samoyed Mix and Tully who is a large wolf-dog. Remember that when these animals are placed in new forever homes, it allows us the opportunity to help another wolf-dog in need. Thanks!
June Pack Member of the Month
"Nala"
"Nala" joined our pack in 2009 when she was a "teenager". She's now about a year and a half old. Nala was a skinny little thing when she first arrived and has now grown into a good-sized, long-legged beauty. Nala has always been very shy with people but recently our newer volunteer Tammy Boatwright has made it her mission to try to entice Nala into being a more people friendly girl. Tammy visits Nala on a regular basis and spends hours in her pen with her tempting her with treats and petting her when Nala allows it. Nala's future is looking brighter now thanks to Tammy.
