2011 Tax-Deductible Donations

We understand that in this difficult economy it is not easy to donate to organizations such as ours. Family most definitely comes first. However, if the opportunity arises, please think of us when making a Tax-Deductible donation this year. Our "pack" always appreciates the help from our supporters.

What's Been Going on in Temerity's World?

"Dad" (Bill) has begun the process of fighting his cancer. He spent about a week in the hospital undergoing the first of three rounds of Chemotherapy. It was very difficult, but he is home now regrouping before he has to do it again.

There were some pretty happy critters when he came back home. We're so lucky to have the help of so many wonderful volunteers that are helping to hold down the fort while he undergoes his treatments. Thank you to you all!

A VERY HAPPY ENDING!!!

PAX, the white German Shepherd Last month we told you all about PAX, the white German Shepherd that Bill rescued from the animal shelter in Reno. Thanks to Bill and Tammy Boatwright, our volunteer/staff person who found the German Shepherd Rescue of Northern California and coordinated his being rescued into the perfect situation, PAX is where he belongs.

Congratulations! Pax finished boot camp and went to his NEW FOREVER HOME in Nevada City, California. His new owner is an experienced German Shepherd owner who lives on 4 acres in Nevada City (PERFECT). The trainer who put him through boot camp also thought he was a fabulous dog.

Here is a picture of this very HAPPY DOG settled in his new home.

TIME TO START VOTING AGAIN!
But it's different this time around…

Petfolio Magazine's Readers Choice contest is up and running but there was a slight snaffoo with the voting. Beginning February 1st we were all able to start voting again but due to some mix ups they changed the rules and started the voting again from square one.

Unlike last year, this year each person can only vote one time from one computer/one ip number. We'd like to ask everyone to please remember to cast your ONE vote for us, but because of this we also need EVERYONE to contact everybody they know and ask them to also vote for us. We're gonna have to work really hard this year if we are to win this contest.

Please log onto www.petfoliomagazine.com to cast your vote for the U.S. Wolf Refuge as your favorite animal organization. The last day to vote is May 1, 2011. Please help us win this contest again this year. Thanks!

Pack Members of the Month

"NEKO & NACOMA"

Neco and NacomaThis month it was a toss up between NEKO & NACOMA for Pack Member of the month and since this DUO is virtually inseparable, it is only fitting that they BOTH share the spotlight for the title this March.

NEKO and NACOMA are a bonded pair that have been pen mates pretty much the entire time that they have resided at the Refuge. Although NEKO was the first to arrive in August 2002, NACOMA followed shortly after in February 2003, both under very similar circumstances. They are both 12 years old now and are so used to each others constant companionship that IF we were to ever find anyone interested in adopting them, it would be a requirement that they adopt together. Each would be lost without the other.

These two share their kennel together, play together, sun themselves together and sleep in their dog house together. They do (as any couple committed to each other) occasionally have their little "arguments" but they aren't long lasting and before you know it, they're back to their old playful selves. These two animals are a joy to be around. They are always happy to see a friendly face and jump at the opportunity to run and play with each other and visit with volunteers.
